Call for sponsors: Study of web-based services in the professional photography market, by InfoTrends

The electronic enablement of business processes related to creating, marketing, selling, buying, and producing photographic services is changing the normal order of the professional photography value chain. To determine what course the industry will take in the future, InfoTrends, a Questex company, is launching a new study entitled, E-Business Enablement: The Future of Professional Photography. Sponsors can sign up by October 26 for discounts and input to the structured surveys of 600 pro photographers and 1,200 consumers.

Just as professional photographers modified their work processes around digital technologies, many are finding opportunities to re-orient their businesses around Web-based business services. As new pro photography services become mainstream, InfoTrends expects to see significant changes driven by market expansion, product innovation, advances in printing / fulfillment solutions, and workflow integration.

"The intricacies of this dynamic market have yet to be fully researched and explored," said Ed Lee, a Director at InfoTrends. "Our belief is that there are distinct differences in behavior among the various professional photography sub segments, and, from a vendor standpoint, no clear leaders have emerged to corner the opportunity presented by Web-based services."

The study will provide a thorough understanding of the impact that e-business is having on today’s market and the effects that it will have in the future. It will offer context and direction setting for a broad spectrum of market players, including service providers, equipment suppliers, and solution participants across the industry value chain.

The study will present camera, printer, software, supplies, and service providers with critical information to support their marketing efforts, product planning, partnership strategies, and distribution initiatives. Key objectives of the study include:

  • Profile pro photographers and their use of Web services
  • Examine related print behaviors
  • Uncover unmet needs and areas of interest
  • Identify and profile leading service providers
  • Size and forecast the North American market for professional photography Web services (including fulfillment solutions)
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for technology vendors and print / service providers

Research for the study will consist of in-depth interviews with executives from leading service providers and technology vendors, interviews with professional photographers across the targeted industry segments, and structured surveys with approximately 600 professional photographers and 1,200 consumers.

Follow the link below or contact InfoTrends for more information on the study or to become a participant. Early subscriber discounts are available until October 26, 2007. Participants that sign up early can review and provide input on the structured surveys.
