China's B2C market declined slightly to RMB 1.02 billion in first quarter, says Analysys International

The total transaction value of the business-to-consumer (B2C) E-commerce market in China reached RMB 1.02 billion in the first quarter of 2007, declining slightly from RMB 1.034 billion in the fourth quarter of 2006, according to a study by Analysys International. The analysts rank the top 3 service providers in this market as Dangdang (18 percent), Joyo (12 percent), and Cncard (six percent) for the first quarter.

Rounding out the top ten vendors for the first quarter are Newegg (3%), M18 (3%), China-pub (2%), 7cv (2%), 800buy (2%), Redbaby (1%) and 99read (1%).

According to the report of Analysys International, the top 10 vendors only accounted for 50% of the total market share. A very large number of small-scale B2C vendors in Chinese B2C marketplace occupy the rest of the market share.
